FaShIoN sHoOt...

So, I was going to do a test run for my fashion shoot today for next week. Didn't happen, battery packs at school needed to charge for 4 hours and nobody did that before I came. So, its been postponed til Sunday or next week sometime. Should be lots of fun - once I begin!!

PARADE - Manufacturing Selves in Photography

This Exhibition was not that inspirational when it came to the actual content itself. I think for me because I knew half of the people in the images, it wasn't as interesting. Yet again, the ANU seems to put on 'arty' style exhibitions that may not always make sense to the average person. Some of the work did grab my attention, like the work by Sam Townsend, titled Fannii Minogue because when I left the exhibition space, that was pretty much the only one I remembered. No, that's a lie. You always tend to remember the worst ones as well (from my point of view anyways). Overall, it was a worthwhile trip to see what other photographers are creating and how their brains work in many mysterious ways.

PETER EASTWAY

I have been looking at Peter Eastway's work a lot lately. I went to his seminar that was held at the Museum last week and I found it very inspirational.  His work is just amazing, the way that he manipulates images to make them look like these dream like destinations that have perfect surroundings and beautiful and dramatic lighting. I purchased his DVD on how to create such masterpieces from scratch and I found that Photoshop and good ideas are the key for creating something truly spectacular. This is just one of the images that amazes me. Once you have an idea and the skill, anything is possible.

1.1

In my research assignment I will be looking at travel photographers and how they make a living from it. In particular where their jobs come from and how to get started in the industry that is slowly becoming bigger and bigger with amateurs.
Looking at Australian photographers in particular and how they get themselves out there.
